Raja ampat Maluku beach and girl egg inventor
The origin of the name of Raja Ampat by local myth comes from a woman who found seven eggs. Four grains of which hatch into four princes who separated and each became a powerful king in Waigeo, Salawati, Misool Misool East and West. Meanwhile, three other eggs became a ghost, a woman, and a stone.
In the course of history, the Raja Ampat Islands have long been inhabited by fishing communities and apply the customary system of Maluku. In this system, the community is a member of a village community. Each village is headed by a king. Since the founding of two Muslim sultanate in the Moluccas, Raja Ampat to be part of the Sultanate Tidore claims. After the defeat of the Dutch Empire Tidore, Raja Ampat Islands became part of the Dutch East Indies claim.
Raja Ampat Islands society generally traditional fishermen who resided in small villages are located far apart and different islands. They are a friendly community receive visitors from outside, especially if we bring a souvenir for them in the form of nut or candy.
This item is a kind of 'peace pipe indian' in Raja Ampat. Events chatting with eating nut, also called "The-the Pinang" often take turns throwing each other mob, the local term for funny stories. They are followers of Islam and Christianity, and often within a family or clan members who have embraced one of the two religions. It makes the people of Raja Ampat remain in harmony despite different beliefs.
Kabupaten Raja Ampat Islands in West Papua's remote location. This area stores a million beauty beneath the sea. Raja Ampat Marine tourism is recognized as one of the 10 best dive sights in the world. Enchantment under the sea and natural wealth, the mainstay of the Raja Ampat Islands through competitive world of tourism in Indonesia and the world through diving tours that can be done in this eastern Indonesia.
The islands are a result of expansion of the district of Sorong regency since 2003 covering 12 districts and 88 villages. District has a population of 31,000 souls has 610 islands with four of them major islands, namely Pulau Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo. Of the 610 islands, only 35 islands are uninhabited. With a total area of about 46,000 km2, only 6,000 km2 of land, while 40,000 km2, the rest is ocean. The islands are unspoiled and the sea is still beautiful to make direct tourists hooked.
The archipelago is located in the heart of the world's coral triangle (Coral Triangle) and is the center of the richest tropical marine biodiversity in the world today.
The islands are located in the westernmost part of the main island of Papua, Indonesia, stretches over an area of approximately 4.6 million hectares. Raja Ampat has the richness and uniqueness of species are high with the discovery of 1104 species of fish, 699 species of molluscs (soft animals) and 537 species of coral animals. Not only the types of fish, Raja Ampat is also rich in diversity of coral reefs, seagrass bed, mangrove forests, rocky cliffs and beautiful beaches. Another interesting potential is the development of ecotourism and the region has also been proposed as a World Heritage Site (World Herritage Site) by the Government of Indonesia.
Looking at his position in the triangle area of coral reef, right in the center of the world's most diverse coral reefs, the sea at the Raja Ampat Islands region is indicated as the richest biodiversity in the world. Collection of extensive coral reefs and rich coral reefs in prove that these islands are able to survive against threats like coral bleaching and disease, two types of threats that are extremely harmful to the survival of coral reefs around the world. Strong ocean currents in Raja Ampat plays an important role in spreading the coral and fish larvae across the Indian and Pacific oceans to the other reef ecosystems. These capabilities are supported by the diversity and resilience make this area a top priority for protection. The archipelago is part of the area known as the Bird's Head seascape area, which contains Cendrawasih Bay, the largest National Marine Park in Indonesia.
The archipelago is a place that has the potential to serve as a tourist attraction, especially diving tourism. Raja Ampat Islands waters according to various sources, is one of the 10 best waters for diving sites around the world. In fact, it may also be recognized as number one for the completeness of underwater flora and fauna at this time.
Dr. John Veron, coral experienced experts from Australia, for example, in a site it is revealed, the Raja Ampat Islands located in the westernmost tip of New Guinea, about 50 miles northwest of Sorong, has the best reef areas in Indonesia. Approximately 450 species of coral had been identified during the two weeks of research in the area.
A team of experts from Conservation International, The Nature Conservancy, and National Oceanographic Institutions (Lon) Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) have done a quick assessment in 2001 and 2002. As a result, they noted in these waters there are more than 540 species of hard corals (75% of the total species in the world), more than 1,000 species of reef fish, 700 types of mollusks, and the highest record for gonodactyloid stomatopod crustaceans. This makes 75% of the world's coral species in Raja Ampat. None of the places with the same area has a number of coral species as much as this.
There are several areas of coral reefs that are still very good condition with the percentage of live coral cover to 90%, namely in the Dampier Strait (the strait between P. Waigeo and P. Batanta), Kofiau Islands, Islands and South East Misool Wayag Islands. Types of coral reefs in Raja Ampat is generally fringing reef with gentle slope to steep contour. But it was also found atoll type and type of burns or taka. In some places like the village Saondarek, when the lowest tides, coral reefs can be seen without a dive and with his own adaptation, the corals can still be alive despite being in the open air and direct sunlight.
Unique species that can occur during diving is some kind of pigmy seahorse or sea horse mini, wobbegong and manta ray. There are also endemic fish Raja Ampat, namely Eviota king, which is a kind of fish gobbie. At Manta Point which is located in Dampier strait Arborek, you can dive in the company of some tail Manta Ray is benign like when you dive in Derawan Islands, East Kalimantan. If you dive at Cape Kri or Chicken Reef, you can be surrounded by thousands of fish. Sometimes a collection of tuna, giant trevallies and snappers. But those tense when we are surrounded by a collection of barracuda fish, although in fact it's relatively harmless (which is dangerous if we see barracuda solitary or alone). Reef sharks are also frequently seen, and if lucky you can see the turtle is still eating sponge or swim around you. In some places like in Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo also seen dugong or sea cow.
Because the area of many islands and narrow straits, so most of the dive at a certain time has kencang.Hal currents is also possible to do drift dive, dive, following a strong flow of water is very clear as he broke through a collection of fish. There is also a sunken airplane World War II relic that can be found in several places to make diving a great place to dive as in P. Wreck Wai. And many more reef sites that actually have never been touched. This makes diving in Raja Ampat was more challenging.

Lampung girl wearing Siger.Siger itself is a form that symbolizes the crown of greatness indigenous culture and livelihood of honor. Usually, Siger was always used by the bride's Lampung. That is, a symbol of Lampung is a symbol of feminine nature. In general, the symbol of the area around the archipelago are masculine. Community borrow or use Gold Siger of faerie through a place in one community garden. Gardens residents whose presence was supernatural, a slum community of Lampung at the time is earlier than that time. But in fact in this slum dwellers lost their village. But people can still relate to the lost village residents by borrowing Siger who used to be used in these traditional activities. But because greed residents who have to cheat after using Siger was not in the back again to the magical village again, so that the existence of supernatural Siger was lost some where. But in the magical village community was still often heard the voices of the inhabitants of the faerie. Like the typical sound of music kolintang Lampung on certain days.
